Certain Fields Slowing Down Client

 Hi Laserfiche Family,

 

We have been having an interesting phenomenon. Certain fields are very slow to load in the client. For example, if we navigate to a folder that contains one of these fields as a column displaying metadata, it could take onwards of 1 minute to load all of the entries for viewing. If we right click on the columns and remove this field from the displayed metadata, it fixes the speed...but that specific field is essential and cannot be removed.

 

anyone experiencing similar problems?

What type of fields are they?

Basic text fields. The great majority of our text fields aren't an issue...but a handful are causing the problems. It seems like the fields are loading quite of bit of information, but it only contains numbers.

How many documents within a folder?

Here's the file structure.

 

[Parent Folder]

             [Sub Folder]

                       [5-7 Documents]

 

 

 

we have about 100 entries with the same structure inside of the parent folder.

                       [5-7 Documents]

             [Sub Folder]

                       [5-7 Documents]

             [Sub Folder]

                       [5-7 Documents]

 

 

etc etc...

I recommend running a SQL Server database maintenance plan on the database that is having performance problems.

I'm seeing that exact same problem in the Laserfiche Client 10.3

Our client has dozens upon dozens of fields in the document template, and there are a lot of dynamic field lookups associated with all the fields. All of the problem fields are text with dynamic lookups. I don't see how the field being dynamic should affect the folder view; could that be the cause?
