Question

Microsoft Outlook Save to Laserfiche Import to Laserfiche Importing Files hang delay

asked on September 5, 2014

An established customer of ours who has had Laserfiche for a number of years and during this time has habitually used the Save to Laserfiche functionality available within the Microsoft Outlook Add-In of the Microsoft Office Integration frequently on a daily basis now experiences significant delay with emails being saved to Laserfiche by this method.

Specifically the Importing File progress popup window displays for up to five minutes before disappearing after having successfully saved a file to Laserfiche.

The customer is experiencing no other performance issues with Laserfiche.

Can you help suggest a cause of this problem, how I can diagnose a cause of the problem and also possible solutions to resolve the problem.

Many thanks, in anticipation.

Thanks John,

I guess the thing to establish here is what has changed from when it was working correctly to now. Is this isolated to Outlook or do you see the same behavior in word and excel? If it's just outlook I would try disabling all the other add-ins and try again in case of an add-in conflict. Also has their Anti-Virus changed recently, I've seen that cause Outlook issues also. Exchange server changes could also play a part here potentially (although you would expect to see other issues also).

Failing that John I would raise a support case and provide LF with the tracing logs from the office integration from the client along with all the information listed here - https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1010992

Cheers! smileyyes

Hi John,

Is this isolated to 1 workstation or does it happen for all users?

Cheers!
