Question

How Can I Export Search Metadata in CSV?

asked on September 3, 2014

So, I have a common search I conduct on a specific template.  The metadata in these templates helps me build a report.  I use the search view to retrieve the information I need from each document in that template (see attached search view).  Is there a way to pull this info out in a CSV form?

Hey Christopher,

From the search results, just head to File > Export > List Contents!

I believe it will export metadata depending on the columns that are displayed in the search result screen. So first add the metadata as columns for search results and then do what Jason said.

How is this done if a search wasn't conducted? i.e., I just opened a folder and want to download a .csv of the contents?

Hi Robyn,

In the meantime since 2014, this option has been changed to 'Generate Report' as we have more reporting options available now. In the windows client you can find it in File->Download->Download Report, and in the web client it's 'generate report' under the toolbar overflow menu.

The Windows Client will download a csv or xls based on your currently displayed columns, the web client provides functionality to specify columns at the time of generating the report.
