PDF Import: Could not find a part of the path

asked on September 3, 2014 Show version history

We have a PDF document we import into Laserfiche every day using quick fields 9.0. Sometimes it fails and give the message 'Could not find a part of the path.....'

This has been an ongoing issue for over a year but it was pretty rare. To get by this issue we just simply re-export the PDF and then run the Quickfield Agent again and problem solved.

Since then we have installed a new server as well as upgraded to Laserfiche 9.1, the issue seems to have become more frequent.

The file itself sits on a fixed path (non- network) location. I have tried running the job at different points in the day but it still persists.

Hey Ryan,

I would suggest bringing this up with your VAR.  This issue has come up before, but it looks like there are several different causes for this issue.  Your VAR may need to open a support case with Laserfiche to investigate further.

Hi Rob,
Since "This issue has come up before, but it looks like there are several different causes for this issue. ", can you provide some typical scenarios where this has happened in past cases?

It can be premature and frustrating to open an LF Support case for an intermittent issue, but may be beneficial to eliminate some possible causes that you have previously discovered.

At this point it seems that the issue happens very randomly on any session, it is extremely rare to have it fail on a manual run.

Actions so far:
a) The permissions are open for everyone on the default temp. folder
b) They have a backup software that runs on these servers at night, this software is fairly new and was installed long after the issue occurred.
c) They don't use the import agent but the QF login has full admin access to both laserfiche and windows.
d) They have already removed the anti-virus from this server.
e) QF 9.0.0.427 has been upgraded to QF 9.0.1.481.
f) LF server is 9.1.1.486.
g) QF and LF are both installed on Winserver 2012 R2 VM.
