asked on August 28, 2014

All of the sudden I have to select my scanner every time I go to scan - why did this happen, and how can it be fixed?

Does the Windows user have rights to write to setscan.ini in C:\Windows?

I had an issue similar to this a while back.  IS had to reset my windows profile.  This happened to me after an update of LF and QF. Good luck

Sounds like a permissions issue that usually revolves around the c:\windows\pixtran folder. If you have local administrator permissions, try doing a "Run as Administrator" on the Laserfiche client, or you can try manually editing permissions for that folder to allow you access.

I had a sort of related  issue where we were getting prompted to set the scanner but the 'scan connect' option was not available for a particular user account. Running LF as administrator did allow this option to be shown even though the user is in the local admin group. We may need to recreate the user profile but in the meantime I have just set the program to run as admin.
