Question

LF Scanning on Terminal Server

asked on August 25, 2014

One of our clients use Laserfiche on a terminal server.  All 18 users use the same terminal server.  It will not allow more than one instance of LFScan.exe to run.  They get the error about only one instance of scanning can be open, etc.   I vaguely recall there was a way to make this possible.  I know it works on a Citrix environment.

Could someone please let me know?

Thank you!

Hi Kristina,

The Laserfiche Client can be run in a terminal services environment, but Scanning is not officially supported in this type of setup. That being said, I found a post on the forums by someone who was able to successfully connect their scanners to their virtual desktop using a piece of third-party software. Another solution for scanning in a virtual environment would be for users to scan into a network drive, and then use Import Agent or Quick Fields Agent to grab the scanned images and get them into Laserfiche.
