Question

Date field in Forms not saving to repository

asked on August 24, 2014

I have a Form that has a date field with the format dd/MM/yyyy.

The associated Template also has a Date field with the short date format: dd/MM/yyyy

When using the "Save to Repository service" the Form is created in the repository without a Template.

This issue is being caused by the Form having a "Bad field value [9017]".

If I use the date 10/10/2014 it works OK as this format fits both dd/MM/yyyy and MM/dd/yyyy.

However the date 28/10/2014 causes the error.

I have tried changing the Form and the Template (either and both) to MM/dd/yyyy but the problem persists.

Also, and I am not sure if this is related, the "{/dataset/_initiated_time}" variable produces the date format "8/25/2014 11:46:37 AM" which is MM/dd/yyyy.

 Any help much appreciated.

Hi Peter,

What is the exact version of LF Forms? This is reported as a bug in Forms related to the browser's locale.

Please open the web.config file under Laserfiche Forms > Config folder, change the value for the IgnoreBroserLanguage key in the appSettings from 'false' to 'true' and test if it works.

If it does not fix the issue, then can you temporarily set the browser language to English (United States) and test if it works. You can open IE > Internet Options > General > Languages, add English (United States) to the top of the list.

Thanks Xiaoxiao Yan,

Forms version 9.1.1.1522

As it turns out the IE Browser was working OK with an English(Australian) setting.

In Chrome the Language setting did not make any difference. Neither did the Language in the config file that you outlined above. The date was still incorrect.

I could not find mention of this problem on the Laserfiche Support site, but I have applied Hotfix KB1013425, which has resolved the problem.

Thanks for your assistance.
