Users want to see the document ID in open document view. Didn't see a way to add in add/remove fields. They are using client 8.3.

Well, if you apply to all templates that a certain field in in the template, and you have the field only visible to that person, and you also default that field to be the entryID, then it would always be there if their is a template assigned and it would always be shown in the metadata.
Thats the only other way i can think of handling it
I do not even see that in Client 9.1.1
You can do "File>"Properties" but nothing that just shows it all the time by default
Never looked in file properties. Thanks! Asked user if that'll work. He said will be easier to have it visible in fields but this will work for now. Will see if there is an easy way to display in metadata.

Yes can be done by adding a field or may be by adding a tag. Was looking to see if there is an in built way in LF. Thanks.
We are exploring adding a 'properties' tab to the metadata dialog so you can display this sort of information without having to bring up a separate dialog (although that's a long-term item). For the time being, the best approach to see it in fields would be to use the id token.

The Properties dialog will show the entry ID whether in the folder browser or the document viewer if the user has the "extended properties" feature right.
