We are having problem to assign security tag to users.

We can only assign security tags to certain users. After several tests, I found that I could only assign security tags to users with access right to import, snapshot, ocr, and modify metadata. Don’t know if that is the reason.

However, we need at times to assign security tags to users with only viewers’ access, which would not allow users to import and modify content in Laserfiche.

How can I make it possible to assign security tags to users with only viewers’ right.\

 

The attached is an image of the error message that I received, when I tried to assign security tag to a user with viewers’ right.

Hi Bonnie,

 

That's odd that using the Laserfiche Administration Console from the Laserfiche Server computer works fine when assigning a tag to a user, but not when using the Laserfiche Administration Console from another computer.

 

You may want to contact your VAR to open a support case so the matter can be looked into further.

Hi Bonnie,

 

Any chance your organization did a domain migration while keeping the Windows accounts named the same? I suspect that there may be multiple SIDs associated with that account.

 

You can verify by querying the database with the following:

 

select * from account_cache where account_name = 'citycam\smunro'

 

and see if it returns more than one row.

Hello Alexander,

 

We have queried the database as you suggested. It does not seem to be the problem. However, the security tag could be assigned on server side. Albeit I still could not assign security tag to certain users, at least we got the problem partially solved. Thanks for helping!
