Question

weblink 8 file exists error

asked on August 19, 2014

After clicking the pdf print icon weblink generates the pdf then displays an error Message From Web Page "The File exisits" then if you click ok it goes back to the document and you can not print or save as pdf.  If you click on the email icon it will only send a link to the document not a pdf attatchment.  Need some help.

Does it only happen in certain browsers? Are you getting a 404 error?

It might be worth checking the handler mappings to make sure they include pdfs.

It happens with any browser Getting no error other than "The File Exists"  We have checked and the temp file is being created.  It may be some type of permission issue in IIS.  We have also checked permissions on the pdf temp folder and the handler mappings.  I will be attaching a video soon as the customer sends it.

Is this issue occurring on multiple machines, or only one machine?

I ask because I wonder if the issue is occurring when creating the temp file on the machine where you are viewing the PDF, rather than when creating or viewing the temp file on the WebLink machine.

As a note, you mentioned

If you click on the email icon it will only send a link to the document not a pdf attatchment.

and I wanted to clarify that that is the expected behavior for the email feature in WebLink.
