Where to put the Forms Authenticated Users Key

Hello,

 

I received a key for Forms Authenticated Users but I do not know where to enter the key. This is all it says

 

To obtain the updated licenses,
log on to https://support.laserfiche.com and click “My License Files” or “My Clients’ License Files.” If the
product is licensed by activation, click "My Activation Keys" or "My Clients’ Activation Keys" to obtain the
keys.

Just reactivate using the Forms Authenticated Participants activation key. Make sure to properly replace the license file and restart the Forms service.

 

If there is an issue with the license, you can open a support case.

If Forms is already installed and you are just wanting to use the license that allows for Authenticated Participants, then you can go into C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Forms and run ActivationToolNet4.exe. Manually activate the proper computer using the correct activation key and download/save the license file to C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Forms\Forms\bin. You may need to restart the Forms service after doing so.

We would like to use the public portal key. The authenticated users are for users that need to approve and view form tasks.

The license file you get from using the Forms Authenticated Participants activation key doesn't also include the Forms Portal feature?

 

You can confirm this by opening the lf.licx file in any editor. Using an app that can display xml in an easy to read format would be best.

Oh, I don't know, I did not ask them to activate it yet. I planned to send them over the instructions since they manage their own server. It looks like I just ask them to replace their portal key with this key and it includes the participant licenses. The view on their license summary page looks different than usual, the participant key is broken out separate from the portal key. When we receive new licenses for Avante, the primary Avante key just updates to a new one.
