Question

Multiple Form in a Business Rule with Lookup rule taking long time to load

asked on August 1, 2014

A have a Business Rule that contains 3 similar Forms.  Each of this forms have Lookup rules (10 to 20) to fill the fields on the forms.

I know that with form 9.1, the lookup rules will start before showing the form to the user.  My question is: Forms 9.1 will start all the lookup rules for the 3 Forms before showing the starting form to the user that create the form request?  The other 2 forms are used by task user to approved or Reject the request.

Hey Pedro,

If the lookup rules are the same between forms, you may want to consider removing the lookup rules from your "approval" forms and instead use variables to map the data captured on the first form.  I'm not sure why the lookup rule would be taking long to load, but if there's no lookup on the subsequent forms, it should make for a faster approval process.

Let me know if you have any questions!  If not, please remember to mark one of the responses as answering your question!

Thanks!

I do not believe that is the case. Each form can have it's own set of lookup rules and I believe the lookups are not performed until some loads the form into their browser.

The long loading time may be the communication between Forms and your database.
