Question

Versioning and Workflow Behavior

asked on August 1, 2014

Hi All,

If a document is under version control and it goes through a workflow that changes metadata it seems that workflow creates new versions of the document (changing metadata seems to quantify as a document change) and the actions are also displayed in the version history for the end-user.

Is anyone else seeing this and does anyone know of a way around this? (Users don't really want to see workflow actions in the document version history).

Cheers!

This is expected behavior. Workflow is just another user making changes to the document.

In this previous post on the same topic, Jacob posted an example SDK script to delete versions created by the workflow user.

Thanks everyone. This clears it up. Is this expected to change in the future?
