Is there a list of software suites that Laserfiche recommends that are capable of synchronous replication (basically Laserfiche image data needs to be written to two storage locations at the same time)? I am confident in SQL database synchronous mirroring, but does Laserfiche recommend any specific 3^rd party software packages that can accomplish synchronous replication other than Symantec? Thank you.

I don't have any recommendations but I wanted to point out that this can also be done in hardware, where it's known as RAID 1.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the input! I should have been more specific in mentioning the reasoning for the software side consideration -- because of the need to replicate across two different physical host storage devices. Basically synchronous replication to separate SAN/NAS devices.

If you do this with hardware/software that's invisible to Laserfiche (ie. RAID1) then LF doesn't care.

I haven't implemented it myself but off the top of my head I believe you could likely do something like this using Storage Spaces in Windows Server 2012 R2 for the repository flat file structure to mirror across multiple servers / storage devices. Again, I'm short on the specifics because I haven't deployed it personally but having read through some details about Storage Spaces / clustering I believe you could likely accomplish this with that technology.

I'm sure there are other solutions too so you might want to talk to your storage vendor about that as well.
