This requires one free named license and a Rio environment. I have not experimented with Avante.
There is an option in Laserfiche to login as a repository user by using Windows Authentication. It is configured in the properties of the Repository User by attaching a Windows Account from your domain.
You are not logging in as a directory user but you can use Windows Authentication to authenticate with your repository account.
If you currently use this feature and want the users to login to the Forms product this way there is a method to allow it.
Transfer licenses to License Manager.
If you are using repository licensing then likely all your named licenses have been allocated for this use. Transfer at least one named license back to the license manager by reducing the number of Full repository users from one of your registered Laserfiche Server instances. This is found in the properties of the instance within License Manager.
Create a disabled Directory User in the forms user list
- Temporarily add the Windows Account for the user who will be logging into forms as a directory named user under Named Users and Devices. You can do more than one user at once. This is why you need the licensing.
- Now re-sync forms users and you will see the Directory User in forms.
- Remove the directory user license for the user(s) you just set by deleting the account from named Users and Devices.
- Re-sync forms again and you will see the Directory User account remains but is set to disabled.
You are finished.
The user's Repository account will still need their Windows Account attached via the special configuration in the Laserfiche Administration Console under the user's properties. When they login to Forms they can now enter their Windows Credentials and it will log them in as their Repository account.
Keep in mind the role you set in Forms still needs to be set on the Repository User Account, not the disabled Directory User. They are actually logging in as a Repository User, the disabled account just opens up the capability.
