Question

User unable to log into Laserfiche Forms

asked on July 25, 2014

I have a user who has been unable to log into Laserfiche Forms.  She is an authorized user in the Laserfiche Licence Manager, and her name is being pulled up properly under System Security, however even after changing her password, she's still unable to log in.

I have tried:

1) Removing her, as a user, from the Laserfiche Licence Manager, and adding her back in.

2) Changing her password and re-synchronizing all of the changes.

3) Modifying her user permissions in Laserfiche Forms.

4) Unchecking "Exempt from synchronization rules", synchronizing with Active Directory, and trying again.

I have verified that with this same Windows account, this user can access the Laserfiche Administration Console, and she can access her machine, etc. with this Windows account as well.  I have checked the Event Log on the server, and all the error message says is that the username/password combination is invalid.

I'm really puzzled as to why this is happening, because this is the only user experiencing this.  Someone here suggested it might have to do with a spelling error with the Login ID, but this couldn't happen, because the information is being pulled directly from Active Directory.  Any suggestions anyone might have would be greatly appreciated!

To reiterate Justin's question, if you open the Laserfiche Administration Console and log into the repository that Forms is configured for, look under the Windows Accounts node and confirm that the Windows user in question is listed there. Then looking at the "Named User" column, confirm that the value in that column is "Full"

Just to confirm, does this person actually have a named user license allocated to them? They could access the administration console for System Manager roles without actually have a named user license, but they'd need one to access Forms. I expect they do, but I figure it's the first thing to confirm, since it's not entirely certain from the items you mentioned in your post.

The username is being pulled directly from AD, so I'm not sure how that could be carried over incorrectly?  I also tried domain\username and username@domain.com, and neither of these worked either.  I find it puzzling she's still able to access Laserfiche with Windows Authentication...

What version of Forms are you running?

We are running version 9.1.1.1517.

And how's this for bizarre - although she can't log into the main Forms page, I can log in, with her Windows username and password, to Laserfiche Forms Configuration?!

Way too strange.

That did it.  The first time I read the response, I read to check if the user was specified as Full under the Licence Manager, not the repository.

I have since added her to the repository where Forms is configured, and what do you know, everything works now.

Thanks for your help, as always!

Check for her exact username under the "username" column in system security again. If that doesn't work, try domain/username.
