Question

Is there a way to push a electronic PDF data into Forms for reporting purposes?

asked on July 25, 2014

We have a client that has a forms process setup for inspections; however there are times when the inspection will be recorded in an offline form as a fill-able PDF.  They would like for Workflow to take the PDF and extract the data and push it out to forms so that it would be included in reporting.

We tried using the HTTP Form Post Activity but that wouldn't work.  Is there anyway to send data to Forms from Laserfiche?

Are you using the results page for the reports?

If you do this in reverse, it could work if you do not need the reports page. Why can you not simply make it so the Forms information gets stored in a PDF instead of trying to undo the PDF?

Also, if it's a fillable PDF, you can extract the information from a workflow activity. You however cannot submit a form from Workflow. You can send an email with a link though that has the variables already configured so when it opens it will have those variables filled out and they just need to hit "Submit"

Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to see if the email with a link will work for the client.  I didn't even think about that.

Thank You,

HTTP Forms Post can submit the starting entry of a Forms business process. What problems have you run into with it?

Can We use that activity in Workflow to Run a report in Audit Trail and grab the exported version to email to specific users?
