Workflow with an 'Entry Deleted' starting rule applicable to shortcuts only. When the user deletes a document, the starting rule is not evaluated against the shortcuts that Laserfiche implicitly deletes.

We log all feature requests. This one is unlikely to happen soon since it would require architecture changes.
The shortcuts automatically removed when a document is deleted are not considered separate events. Removing documents components is reported as its own event when it is done individually, but not when part of a "bigger" event. Otherwise you would end up with a lot of superfluous events that are all part of deleting the document (like cleaning up all shortcuts, deleting pages, deleting the electronic document component, removing field data, etc.).
Is that correct Miruna to say that deleting pages, deleting the electronic document component and removing field data can be triggered by rule type 'Entry Changed'?
Yes, but not when the whole document is deleted.
If I understand correctly that means that case 'cleaning up all shortcuts' in your first answer is the only one not covered by any event type?
Let me explain my need: I need to cleanup (read 'delete') empty folders in real-time that contained shortcuts to a document deleted by a user.

There is no way to tell where the shortcuts were if the entry was deleted already. I guess if you knew what the patterns were for the locations, you could just try find the folders by path and deleting them. But there is no way for Workflow to find those folders just from the entry deletion event.

Given my need provided above and your latest reply, I consider there's a functional requirement for «Deleted Entry» rules be fired against shortcuts following the deletion of their document counterpart. I understand that backward compatibility may require implementing the feature as a checkbox «Run workflow against entry shortcuts as well».
Converting this post into a feature request would be satisfactory.
