Question

Bug Fix E-mails?

asked on July 23, 2014

Hey,

We have a customer that was wondering whether it it possible for them to receive bug fix e-mails, similar to the Knowledge base Articles on the VARNews - is this something that exists?

Thanks,

Dom

Hi Dominic,

Bug fixes are normally included within the 'list of changes' KB article.

Within the newsletters/VAR news emails is usually a link saying "Laserfiche 9.1.1. released!" or something similar. If they are really that interested they can click on the link and view the list of changes seeing what bug fixes have been implemented including the SCR numbers. I myself monitor this in this way. As for a dedicated e-mail for techs showing only bug fixes, that would be something new Laserfiche will have to put together (if they decide it is worth doing).

Hope this helps answer your question Dominic!

Cheers! smiley

Like Chris said, bug fixes for issues tied to support cases are listed in the release notes for new versions or hotfixes. We list the description of the issue followed by the bug number.

You can get a list of KB articles filtered by product on the support site on each product's page. Or you can just search for the bug ID and if it's listed on a KB article, it will show up.

That said, we are looking into revamping the support site and how to present information. So if there's anything else you'd want to see more prominently on the support site, let us know.

Hey,

Thanks for the responses guys!

Chris - I'll let the customer know of the method you explained as it seems direct enough. It should allow them to monitor any changes they may find useful :)

Regards,

Dom
