Hi
My client is asking to see if its possible to turn off Fuzzy Search entirely in all LF applications searches (LF client, LF web access, and Weblink)? They don't want the user to have an option to turn on the Fuzzy Search option.
Thanks

There is currently no way to force Client-side settings such as Fuzzy search to be completely unavailable to users. The only close option is the Everyone group attribute as a default as discussed above.
Hi Farzali,
I don't think there is a way to turn this off completely. We had a similar request from another customer to alter the behavior of the (don't ask me again) check boxes.
This can however be controlled through attributes for the users. It looks like the attribute that controls this is the [Search]Option attribute. With fuzzy search turned on it has a data value of 2 and with it off it has a data value of 0.
You could include this in the everyone group and roll it out to the users that way? Not an ideal solution I know but it makes it kind of possible to control what happens (without having to log on as all the users to change it).
Hope this helps!
If you set an attribute on the everyone account what happens when a user tries to re-enable it? Does the everyone account override user attributes or the other way around?
Attributes for an individual user override Everyone attributes.
Thanks, this is good to know.
Thanks Chris...
I have already setup Fuzzy Search to off in the global attribute in Everyone group and it does default to off in new accounts or accounts that don't have their own option preferences setup.
Since we don't have anyone from Laserfiche group commenting, I take your response that we can not turn Fuzzy Search completely off.

Thanks for confirmation.
You can also turn down the fuzzy options so if they do turn it on, it is very restrictive (until they modify their settings)
