Quick Search Settings Not Saving

Not sure if there's a setting for this, or if it's by design, but I was able to reproduce the same issue on version 9.1.1 as the customer is having on 9.0.  That is whenever they close out of Laserfiche and reopen it...the QuickSearch defaults to "Search Text" and "Search Fields" and they only want Search Fields.  On version 9.1.1 it seems to default to "Search Entry Names" and "Search Fields".  Is this by design, is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a bug?

There was an issue in the 9.0 Client where the quick search settings were not getting saved when you use the File > Log out command. This has been fixed in 9.1. Make sure that isn't the scenario the user may be running into.

What about 9.1.1 and the "Search Entry Names"?  I've been able to reproduce this on my machine.

Like Chris, I'm unable to recreate your issue in 9.1.1. Perhaps you can try clearing out the [Search]SelectedQuickSearches attribute and test again. Also, you can try deleting the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Laserfiche\Client8 registry key (after backing it up first) and then restarting the Client to see if you're still having an issue.

Tried doing both...perhaps there's something I'm doing wrong?  I deselect "Entry Names" to ensure that only "Entry Fields" has a check mark.  I perform the search.  I then close the client, open it back up, and go to the Quicksearch and "Entry Names" is again checked.  Do I have to actually open a document from the search to get it to save?

No, you don't have to open a document from the search results. It may be best to open a case for your own issue and a separate case for your customer if it's still needed.

Hi Daryl,

 

I'm not seeing the same thing. I can select any variation of text or fields in the quick search and it's remembered when I close and re-open Laserfiche.

 

This also seems to be controlled by the user attribute SelectedQuickSearches. Just fields is 2 and fields and text is 1,2.

Interesting...in version 9.1.1...if I chose to search just "Entry Names"...then it saves, but if I chose to search just "Entry Fields"...when I close and reopen..."Entry Names" is also checked.  "Entry Names" is always checked when I reopen the client.
