Question

active directory syncroniation??

asked on July 21, 2014

What happens if I have more users in my AD group than I have named user licenses?  I have a test server set up using my VAR License as I want to test a Workflow scenario for a customer...however, I can't get AD Synchronization to work...it has synced 3 of my AD users, but as I add more, they are not syncing, even if I manually force the sync.  the VAR kit only comes with 5 named licesneses...but I have 10 AD users?  Thoughts?

Once you hit the limit on licenses, any other users in the group will be ignored when the License Manager synchronizes active directory groups.

You are correct in what you are saying Daryl,

The VAR kit is limited to 5 named users (as is also the RIO VAR kit).

Sadly this only leaves you with a few options.

1. Test with only 5 user licenses

2. Request a temporary evaluation copy of Laserfiche from your account manager with more lics.

3. Test this on the customer site you are testing for

4. Buy a LF system with 10 named user lics.

Obviously the last option is a tad expensive for testing but suppose it depends what it's for and if it warrants spending the dollar. wink

Hope this helps!
