Question

Convert tiff to dwg

asked on July 18, 2014

Looking for a solution for an engineering firm to share large dwg files prior to archival

Is there anyway to save in LF and convert back to CAD?  If not, best practices with other software ideas?

Thank you LF

Hi Dina,

Is there a reason the customer is not simply saving the files directly in Laserfiche as a .DWG?

Cheers!

They want to be able to use LF to share big DWG files.  Right now they are using Drop Box.

Do they have to be saved as tiff files into LF?

If so, they need to be able to convert back to CAD for editing, and cannot lose resolution.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Dina,

Files saved into Laserfiche do not have to be TIFF files. This is why I was asking. They can just save the .DWG files directly into Laserfiche via drag and drop. They will be in Laserfiche as .DWG files and open in the relevant application (CAD) when double clicked.

Hope this helps Dina! wink
