Question

Dynamic fields or Quickfields??

asked on July 18, 2014

So I understand that Quickfields does not support Dynamic Fields...so my question is has anyone come up with a way to "have your cake and eat it to"??  Basically, our customer has a rather lenghty set of document types based upon the program...so we want to use dynamic fields for entering info as well as make searching easier.  However, those dynamic fields don't work in Quickfields, which is what is used to do the scanning because of the amount of documents being scanned.  Is there a work around (scanning into the client doesn't work because customer us using copiers and when they use LF Scanning, they have to manually separate all the documents upon import).  Any ideas or suggestions are welcome!

Thanks

You can use a Lookup in the Quick Fields Session to access the database information, if correcting the data is what you need.

If you are looking for the ability for the scanner operator to only be able to enter in a value that is correct, then you can at least use Field Verification to clear or mark the field when it is filled in.

An alternative is to allow Quick Fields to send in those fields incorrectly. It will still work inside of the repository as long as you do not have the "Restrict Values" option enabled. You can then use workflow to see if those incoming documents are keyed correctly, maybe use a fuzzy search to find the right value, or even have a document review process inside of LF repository to enable the information to be modified appropriately to the correct information.

Hi Daryl,

Have you considered using something like Ecopy on the MFP's?
