Forms and iPAD, secure access to internal server

 I read the questions/answers related to the iPAD and Forms and I know that the mobile app right now does not include Forms.  I am assuming that the people who are using Forms on their iPAD are accessing the Form from their internal network, inside their Firewall. How are you securely accessing your internal server where Forms is located?  Are you setting up VPN on your iPAD?

You can make Forms accessible from outside the network. If you want to secure you are able to install an SSL certificate to encrypt all communication from a users browser to the Forms server.

But I still have the issue of punching a whole in the Firewall, don't I?

https traffic travels on port 433.
