Question

Document Mismatch

asked on July 10, 2014

After workflow has completed attaching metadata to a PDF, and the file is inside a laserfiche repository, I am not able to attach metadata from a template. I keep getting an error of "Document Mismatch" all I can think of is that something is changing once the document is created with Forms being that I am trying to map the fields using the same PDF document I used in the inital workflow to create the document I need to add to. Any ideas or work arounds, or hotfix's?

Where are you getting this error "Document Mismatch" from? Is it in workflow? I haven't run into any issues so far with that specific error messages but if you can give us some more context we would be happy to take a look at it. Maybe some screenshots will help?

I apologize, I mis worded the error. Its "The PDF file did not match".

This workflow will not enter information from the template into the document created by Forms. According to my Laserfiche vendor, this is a known issue and "should be" but not a guarantee that it will be fixed in the "next" release.

I'm looking for another way to accomplish this task, without waiting for the "next" release. We made the purchase for Laserfiche & Forms to accomplish these tasks, and were told we can do it this way, however this is not the case. I have no doubt that it can be done, but I need a fast resolution to this issue to complete this project and move on to the next.

I'm assuming you are not adding the field you need the information from into the assign field values? If the field you are pulling information from is in there and has no data it will of course apply 'no data' to that field and fail to add this in to the fill out PDF form node.

Difficult to troubleshoot this one with so little information. Can you attach the workflow to this thread?

Cheers!

The workflow is attached.

The fields are being mapped properly. Workflow cannot insert that data back into the document. I'll give you a run through as to what I am doing.

Laserfiche Forms:

Fill out the form, submit, it uses metadata to fill out the PDF, put the PDF into Laserfiche.

Laserfiche:

Open the new PDF, make changes in the metadata fields (template) as needed to finish the process of entering needed data into the form that was submitted to Laserfiche. Close the document, and workflow should enter new information into this document. However it fails giving the error of "the documents do not match".

I can't see the .wfi workflow file attached?

On another thought path. What if you create the information from the original PDF as a new token (assign token values) and try assigning that to the new PDF? I had a strange SQL issue once and this seemed to work around it.

Worth a try?

Nothing, this stupid site will not let me show you the file you requested. It keeps removing it.

the bottom line is, there is nothing wring with my workflow or what I am doing, there is an error with Laserfiche Forms, and Laserfiche that is not letting me do as I need. The two forms to not match once Laserfiche Forms has created the entry after being submitted.

OK Thanks Curtis,

If this is a known issue and is going to be resolved in the next release, was a workaround for now not recommended at the same time?

No work around. I'm stuck with what I am doing until something is released, so basically my entire project, and purpose of purchasing laserfiche is on hold for however long it takes for a fix to come out. I'm $25k in the hole until then.

Sorry to hear you are stuck in that situation.

Perhaps your Laserfiche VAR can escalate this with Laserfiche for you to get a hotfix released ASAP.

Good Luck!
