Question

Quickfields enhancement - whole document temporary local enhancement.

asked on July 8, 2014

I'm just throwing this out there, I don't know how often this issue would come up and if it would help speed up processes, but I'm wondering if we could apply temporary enhancements to an entire document AFTER it's been identified.

So in my case I have a identification process that identifies a multipage document. The data I'm extracting is Tax forms, so I need data on Page 1, 2 and 3. To help get that data I need to do vertical line removal - but I need the form to remain as it is.

Currently, I need to do 3 separate Zone OCR Processes and apply a local enhancement to remove lines on the corresponding pages (I found "use existing text" is not as accurate).

So I'm asking if there could be something done where you could apply temporary enhancements to the whole document (or range of pages) that could then be used in subsequent processes on that same document.

No, the temporary image enhancements are tied to the main process. But running a process on page 2 with local enhancements and one one page 3 with local enhancements is not any slower than running the local enhancements on multiple pages up front and then running the main processes.

Miruna,

I just came across this question and I am having a similar issue. I have the Quick Fields Complete package version 10.

I want to remove lines in order to capture some numbers off of a Tax Form, but when the document is sent to the repository it has permanently removed the lines on the whole page (Vertical & Horizontal).  How do I only remove these for the OCR process and then bring them back? It is only for page 1.

Right-click on your OCR process and choose "Insert Local Enhancement" from the context menu:

Miruna,

Thank you. I'm not sure how I missed this during training.  I appreciate you!
