**Feature Request** LF Form prepopulation through DB **table** lookup

asked on July 4, 2014 Show version history

Hello,

Matt Lepkowshi's question  is second VAR request this week (in addition to mine and others in the past) that asks for prepopulating forms through a database lookup.

We at Innovimage are dealing with a Canadian Rio prospect that mandates that feature so I think Laserfiche should strongly consider providing that feature built-in Forms rather that the jQuery (unsupported) workaround kindly outlined by Eric Cressey in Carl Hunter's question.

A great Independance Day to all you southern neighbors!

Louis, you may want to change the topic of the request to Populating Form Tables through DB Lookup. Populating Forms through DB lookup is already possible with the exception of a table.

Blake is right. With default values able to be set for fields, and the ability to use javascript to automatically trigger any DB look-up on a field when the page is loaded, the only real hindrance is the use of Tables, which need secondary hidden fields and javascript to be able to take values and fill them in. That's how I get around it anyhow.

Thanks for the feedback Louis. I've spoken with Matt about this earlier the other day as well. I'll double check to make sure the team is aware of the request.

Any update on if this functionality will be coming in Forms 10? This would allow us to do so much more with the system.
