I would like to copy a tree of records series folder and past that tree into a different part of the repository. Can I do that?

When I try pasting the 'folders only' I get a error message:

I am trying to past this records series folder structure into another records series folder with nothing else in it.

Hi Chris,

I'm pretty sure you cannot copy/paste, but you can export the folder structure as a briefcase, then import it elsewhere - you can select the items you want to export from Tools>Options>Export>Briefcases.

Hi Chris,

Do you want to copy the record series or just the contained record folders? You can copy and paste record folders, but not record series, so based on what you're trying to do, your steps will vary.

To copy record folders from one record series to another, select all the record folders inside the record series and copy those. You can then paste ‘folders only’ into another record series.

To “copy” a record series and it’s contained record folders, you’ll need to export the record series as a briefcase and import that into the other record series. (Note that any records will also get exported/imported.) For this to work correctly, make sure the Records Management data option is selected under Briefcases in the Options dialog box.

Thanks for the info. What I have is a folder structure of several Records Series folders that I needed to replicated to part of the repository without replicating the document inside. I was able to get a briefcase from a empty repository that I could use. I will have to play with those setting to see if there is a way to not include the documents but just include the Records Series Folders.
