Can you have a stamp fill in a metadata field?

 We would like for a user to use an approval stamp to move a document along a business process. It would be nice to have the stamp when applied to index a metadata field called "Status". So when the Sales manager gets a order they would stamp the doc "Approved". It would then put "Approved in the status metadata field and move to a billing admin to view. 

 

I have not found a way for this to be done. Am I missing something?

You can. If you look at the conditions in the Routing Decision and Wait for Entry Change activities, under Document, there is a condition called "Stamp Names". You can set it to include the Approved" stamp. Then, when the condition is satisfied, you can have Workflow set the field.

Would the document then have to be part of a business process though?
