Feature Request - Update Metadata

asked on July 2, 2014

Hi All,

As of 9.0.3 you can now use the attributes [Settings]CacheFieldValues and [Settings]MaxDropDownLength to interact with large drop down lists. This will cache the list values upon logging into Laserfiche. If this list updates every hour (for example) then the users will need to log out and log back into Laserfiche in order to update the caches list values. What would be nice would be a button within Laserfiche or an option to refresh or update the metadata from within the client to avoid logging out and logging back in again. Is this possible?

Cheers!

The key doesn't exist yet, I will look into adding this for 9.2.

I don't think we will add a button for this since it's more of a niche feature. What if you could set a registry value that tells the client to clear the cache the next time the user views the metadata? This way you could have an integration (maybe a toolbar button in the client) that triggers it.

Thanks Robert,

This would essentially achieve the same thing I suppose. The client has 20,000 entries which is linked in a LF list via external tables. This list needs to be refreshed without the user logging out and back in again.

Which registry key would we need to set in order for the metadata to update?

Cheers!

HI,

I'm stuck with the same issue. Data's are getting added to the database every hour. Couldn't refresh every hour without logging out and logging in.

Any Update on this?
