Hi Mazahir,

Not as fair as I'm aware! The only way to currently do this would be to have separate documents for separate versions. So V1 is a document, V2 is a document etc. This way you can independently assign security.

I'm sure this would make a feasible feature request though!

Hope this helps!

Chris is right--there's currently no way to assign security to individual versions of a document. You could get close using Link Groups, which function a bit like versioning. Link groups let you collect related documents. The group preserves the order in which documents are added to it, allowing something akin to a version list. Also, since each document is preserved as a separate entry in Laserfiche, they can each have their own security settings.

More information about link groups can be found in our Laserfiche Client help files.

Zachary,

We have found the need for this feature as well. Any idea if this possibly may be included in a future update. We have a few documents that go through a review process. Well during that review different versions are created. We don't want our normal users to access that last effective (final approved) document. So we would like to hide all the created versions until the document has been finally approved.

The link groups might get out of hand because we are running a business process workflow on these documents, and we would like to see that BP info on one document. Any ideas will greatly help.

Any updates to this thread? We would also like to limit access to version history while retaining access to template fields.

Security is still at the level of the document. For your use case, do you want to hide the previous versions to prevent confusion, or are there real concerns about users accessing the contents of previous versions? If the latter, can you expand on your scenario?
