Question

How to specify Https when using web app.

asked on June 26, 2014

Hello,

I have setup workflow to send a link in email to the mobile app and the web access.  When I open the link it takes me to the Mobile app and specifies the Laserfiche Repository as http://myserver.com/laserfiche.  However only SSL is allowed through the firewall so the connection fails. If I then edit the Repository link to show https://myserver.com/laserfiche it works fine.

Also on an Android device the links do not open the app at all.  However if you have the app and are already signed into it and paste the link (lfmobile://myserver.com/laserfiche) into a browser it will open.

Any advice?

Hi Scott,

Some info for launching the mobile app.

From your reply, it looks like it's the WA link you were generating, and WA now can detect the iPhone browser hence it can redirects you to launch the mobile app, but it doesn't detect the Android browser yet.

And if you want to launch it from the link in email, we recommend you replace the http to lfmobile:// and email that to user, it will launch the LF mobile app correctly. And due to Android issue, we have more information on opening Mobile URLs here: http://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/laserfichemobile/9.1.1/en-us/android/advanced/Content/Installation_and_Configuration/URLs.htm

Hope these will help.

You don't mention how you are generating the link for the email, but wouldn't it work by using the Generate Web Access URL activity and putting HTTPS in the starting Web Access URL setting for that activity?

I am generating the link from workflow using the Generate Web Access however changing the beginning to https did not help me.  It would still defalult back to http and fail to login untill I changed it.
