Quick Fields: Saving to a network share

asked on June 26, 2014

We have a client who has asked if it is possible with Laserfiche Quick Fields to save documents directly to a network drive as opposed to a Laserfiche repository. I have investigated this, but I cannot see how or if this is possible, so if anybody knows how to do this please can you indicate how.

Hi John,

Quick Fields is designed to serve as a capture tool for Laserfiche repositories, so it's not currently possible to save to a network drive.  Of course, documents stored in Laserfiche can be exported easily, if your users want to save them on a network drive.  But Quick Fields exclusively feeds documents into the system, not out of it.

Also, if you set up WebDev on the repository, then the documents can be access like they are on a network share.
