Question

date field wrong format

asked on June 20, 2014

I patterned matched a a date from a document, I'm trying to assign it to a Date field but when running through the WF it gives me an error "The data assigned to field ... is not valid."

I happened to open up the search from the Client and saw that this date field was looking for a date range.  so rather than "11/11/11"  it looks like it's expecting "11/11/11 to 11/11/11"

this field was created a while ago - and no changes have been made to it.  It's always been a standard date field - now it seems to be a date range.  how do I get it back to just a date?  (I tried to change the type from the Admin Consol but it still comes back with this format.)

The standard date field in Laserfiche is just a single date value, however, when you are searching on that field in the Client, the UI presented allows for a date range search to be performed.

Can you confirm that the data from your Pattern Matching token is valid?

Laserfiche Date search work as Range search with the time in the back end. So it can bring the files from "00:00" to "23:59".

Invalid format only prompts when wrong format of date is passed. Check if the Date format passed in workign is in correct format. Usually, "MM/dd/yyyy" format is preferred while searching.
