email reminder

 I would like to send an email reminder to the end user that approves a business step if the process is setting for 4 hrs.  What is the best way to send this delayed email ?

The Escalation or Deadline activity can do that (depending on what you expect to happen when the time limit is exceeded). If you are using Route to Folder/User/Group to distribute the work to users, then the notification is built into the activity.
