Question

How long does it take the Laserfiche Server to sync with Active directory?

asked on June 16, 2014

A Client of ours changed their windows login credentials this morning and are now unable to login to the Laserfiche Client using Windows Authentication. They get incorrect username and password message. I have seen similar issues previously and usually resolved overnight.

How often does the Laserfiche Server sync with Windows Active Directory? This Client is on Avante.

In the case of Windows Authentication, there is no syncing of credentials. The user is authenticated directly against AD. I would verify that they have the Windows Authentication box checked. That's always what happens when I get a complaint from the user after they've changed their password.

To test, I just closed Laserfiche, changed my AD password, and opened Laserfiche back up. It let me right in.

Hi Karim,

Is the user logs out of windows and logs back in again, does that refresh the LF logon? If so this might be something to do with Windows Group Policy rather than a Laserfiche setting.

As Devin explains there is no real 'refresh' time (unless you are using an LDAP configuration, then I'm not so sure). It should just update the password immediately.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
