Question

Error deleting a document page part volume data file.

asked on June 16, 2014 Show version history

We're seeing errors on the client server event logs as follows. Are these errors normal and am I correct in my thinking that these are simply locked files waiting for release ?

Error deleting a document page part volume data file.  Volume ID: 3 Store ID: 00000D42 Path: d:\Laserfiche\Repository\DEFAULT\DEFAULT000001\00\00\0D\00000D42.LOC Error: 32

Brian

When you navigate to the file location, are you able to find the physical files?

If not, I believe Laserfiche Support will suggest you run a SQL script that deletes the records of the deleted pages in the Laserfiche Database to eliminate these errors from being logged in the Event Viewer.

I frequently see the same error. In my case the LOC file in question does exist, but the other corresponding files for the page do not. The system appears to retry this action every fifteen minutes.

If I try to delete the files manually, I get the message that , "The action can't be completed because the file is open in Laserfiche Server. Restarting the Laserfiche Server service and the Laserfiche Full Text Search and Indexing service does not seem to release the locks. The only way I have been able to clear the locks and delete the files is to restart the server.

Any ideas on what causes this and or how to avoid the issue? Is there another way to release the locks so that the file can be deleted?

I have a client that is having the same issue.  They are receiving the LOC files and they are looking for a way to delete them (according to him, there are quite a few) without having to do it manually (looking for a script to do so).  They do not want to have to restart their server because they are running a 24-7 operation due to emergency services.  Looking for some assistance on this one as well.

I came across this when generating pages and getting the error: "Error printing '#Lease#257': Unspecified error [6000:0x80004005] [6000]"

We are facing same issue as Brian mentioned.

Any suggestion from Laserfiche gurus :)

I also have come across this error.  Maybe it's trying to delete the file in use and sending an error?

I have the same error. Is spamming the event viewer.

Any ideas from Laserfiche what this can be?

Thanks
Gian

Gianfranco,

Are you able to find the files in their physical location? For example when you navigate to: d:\Laserfiche\Repository\DEFAULT\DEFAULT000001\00\00\0D\00000D42.LOC , is the 00000D42.loc file at that location?

The file above is an example, check with one of the errors on your server and try to locate the file?

Hi Karim,

Yes the file is there.

Thanks

I would suggest having your VAR start a case with Laserfiche Support. In my case, the files did not exist at the location, so Laserfiche Support provided a SQL query that searched for such links and deleted their entries from the LF database.

Also check to see if the Laserfiche Server service account has full permissions to the files in question.
