Font in text box shrinking

One of our customers has the following process:

 

  • Put text box on an LF doc, enter some text
  • Export LF doc as PDF to send to their customer
  • Their customer adds text to text box and sends back
  • Our customer imports the doc back in, converting back to an LF document again

 

The font for the text in the text box appears normal and legible UNTIL the final import and conversion back into a Laserfiche doc.  I tested it on my machine and found the same thing to be true.

 

If I bring the doc in as a PDF, then use the "Use Snapshot virtual printer" option, the text is the correct size, but it is no longer an editable text box.  

 

Anybody have any ideas on what might be happening, or how to work around this?

A bug has been filed for this issue where generating images from a PDF and converting the annotations to LF annotations changes the annotation text size to 12 pt. We'll update this thread when a fix is available.

It would help if you attached a sample PDF. Otherwise, we don't have anything with which to try to replicate the issue inhouse.

I just used a random LF doc, put a text box on it, exported as PDF, modified the text box, reimported into LF as an LF doc. 

 

From what I can tell, the starting document doesn't matter.

What version are you and the customer using? I tested this using 9.1.0 and was not able to replicate the issue. The text box retained font size and edit-ability.

 

The Generate Pages settings I used:

I'm on 9.1.1, he's on 8.x. 

 

Try changing the font size to a bigger size, then do all the steps above. I think what might be happening is that it defaults back to 12, even if your default is set higher.

I increased the text size and can confirm that it shrinks the text size back down to 12 upon conversion to TIFF in Laserfiche.

 

Since I don't believe this is expected behavior, please open a case with Laserfiche Support regarding this issue (you can of course reference this post in your case).

Has this issue been resolved?  I have a customer experiencing either a growing font size or a shrinking textbox annotation.
