ERROR "Could not load file or assembly 'Laserfiche.DistributedProcessing.Common'"

asked on June 11, 2014 Show version history

I have set up a schedule OCR that is giving me this error. I see a KB article referencing this error but the cause and workaround are vague.  It is somewhat strange though because while I can't publish it directly, I can manually run the workflow which prompts me to publish before running the workflow and runs it without error.  I have the DCC installed on our production server and workflow installed on it's own server.  Any reason why I can't directly publish but still run the workflow without error?

Update:  Workflow will let me publish only when designer is used directly from virtual server.  Error is being given only when trying to publish from designer on my computer.

Thanks.

The issue is that installing the Workflow Designer by itself will not install the necessary files for designing a workflow using the "Schedule OCR" activity. This will be addressed in a future release. However, for now, a workaround would be to install the Workflow Server on the same computer where you have the Designer installed. You do not need to do any other configuration though. Just installing the Workflow Server is sufficient as it will install the necessary files that were not installed by the Designer.

I see.  Well currently the workflow server and designer are installed on the same VM but I also have  the designer installed on my work computer.  This would make sense as to why I was able to publish the workflow once I logged into the VM but could not publish it from my desktop.
