Question

move entry access rights

asked on June 9, 2014

I have a user who has move entry permissions set in the admin console. Within the repository, she has Browse, Read, Write Metadata, Create Documents, and read entry security enabled, with the rest of her access rights set at denied. When moving a document from one folder to another, she recieved an error message stating that access was denied for moving the document. Any ideas? She had all the access rights listed above applied to both folder.

Thanks in advanced.

The Modify Contents access rights on the source parent folder can be used instead of Delete Entry.

Try giving her the Delete Entry access right on the folder from which she's moving the document.

Is the delete right necessary for a document to be moved?

We would like to disable users delete rights. If we want to keep the delete rights disabled, I guess the alternative would be to build a workflow that moves documents for the user.

Another thing that might work is to enable access to the folder under 'add' for the user's account or group.
