Is this regarding the WFUser$ account? Also, are they using multiple Workflow Servers with the same repository? If so, then do the following:

  1. Go into the Workflow Configuration Manager on each WF Server computer and remove the monitored repository from all of them
  2. Then start with one Workflow Server computer, and add the monitored repository back in
  3. Now for each additional Workflow Server they want to configure, when configuring the monitoried repository now, use the "Attach" option instead of "Add"

You can review http://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/workflow/9.1/en-us/LFWorkflow.htm#cshid=Resources/Configuration/Config%20Manager/Configuring%20Monitored%20Repositories.htm and http://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/workflow/9.1/en-us/LFWorkflow.htm#Resources/Configuration/WFUser.htm for more information regarding this setup.

That is odd, I don't think the subscriber account password is specified. You could try removing and re-entering the monitored repository. GO to Workflow Administration Console. Choose Server Configuration and Repositories.

When adding a monitored repository it asks for administrative credentials but only to configure the connection, not for re-establishing connections.

The Subscriber password is auto-generated when you register a repository with the Subscriber. If you connect a Workflow Subscriber from a second machine, it will reset the password, so the first one will throw the error above. The password can be shared by multiple subscribers if needed, but it sounds like it was done incorrectly.

Thank you for the information. I will make the following changes that Alex posted and see if  it helps.

We had this issue and disconnecting and reconnecting the server does the trick but with a caveat. We have to enter the server will a fully qualified name. So as an example, let's say your local network domain is SNOOPY and the server name is lf-server-01, you would enter the server name as:

lf-server-01.SNOOPY.local

This did the trick.
