I'd like to request the ability to collect information from the end user at the start of a business process.
As we are upgrading from 7 to 9 I'm trying to replace many of the old integration apps and utility apps we have in our environment with Workflows. Mostly we have had success with this, but it would be very useful to be able to start a process and collect some info.
For example, we have a helper app used to pre-create a number of documents based on a name and ID number. The current process has a helper app where the user enters the name and ID and the app creates the docs. As it stands, my best bet is for the user to create a blank document with the name and ID and then run the BP on that doc, and the BP will create the required docs.
My best case would be to hit the button to start the BP and a window pops up to prompt for the name and ID which then go into tokens.
I can see that there would be lots of complexity to having user interaction all through the BP, but at the BP start might be a bit simpler.
I've also had it suggested that Forms might meet this need, but we don't have Forms (yet.)
