 Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to modify the default email message for all users when sending documents from Web Access?

Thanks,

Hey Brian,

Sorry for the delayed response. The default email message is saved to each users properties as the user attribute [Settings]DefaultEmailMessage. To push a default message out to all your users, simply add this attribute to the everyone group in the admin console. Your users will inherit the attribute from the everyone group.

Note that users will only use the everyone group's attribute value if they do not have a conflicting attribute saved to their own individual properties. This means that any user that already has [Settings]DefaultEmailMessage in their user properties will not inherit from the everyone group.

One other thing to be aware of- for efficient purposes, Web Access caches settings from the everyone group for 30 minutes. This means that if you make a change to the everyone group's default email message, the change won't take affect for your users for another 30 minutes. In a test environment, you can simply reset IIS on the web server machine see the changes immediately. For a production environment, you're probably best waiting until after peak hours unless you know for a fact there are no existing users sessions in place.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

Can this only be done on a user by user basis?

Thanks,
