Hey folks! Just wondering if anyone else has had the new iOS app crash when they try to open a document?

iOS and Laserfiche are on the most current version.

Hi, all,

A new iOS app 9.1.2.327 is available to update from Apple app store. If you are not seeing it, give it a while to refresh the app store cache. But it's ready to update.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and we are enhancing our process while working with app store.

The login with trial account (which we used to call it demo) is temporarily hidden from the iOS app because Apple thinks we have in-app purchase embedded and rejected that. We'll alter the wording to be more clarified and add the trial login back shortly. But the trial login is still available in Android app.

Let me know if there's any further questions. And thank you for all the patience.

After the last 2 updates, one of our users is getting "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when trying to open PDFs in the iOS app that were put into LF via webdav. Any idea on why this might be happening?  Thanks!

Hi,
There is a known issue with current version where users will be unable to open document, use the camera or send images to the repository after upgrading. A fix has been submitted to the App Store resolving this issue, and will be available shortly.

The most updated Laserfiche Mobile add-on will be available on support site with announcement early this week.

Thank you.

Best,

Julia

Some more information. The crash in question is discussed in KB 1013496, and only impacts the iOS version of the app. Only the app itself is relevant, the version of the add-on is not. As Julia noted, a fix has been submitted to the app store but unfortunately there is no way for us to either revert or push a fix through ourselves - it's up to Apple as to when they replace it. Hopefully soon!

Yes, my Laserfiche Mobile crashes out and i have to log back in when I try to view a document.

This seems to have started since updating the iPad APP to 9.1.1 on May 30.

I can update fields etc but cannot view.

My Laserfiche server Web Access is ver 9.1.1.240

There does not appear to be any a later version or patches on the support site

Just a quick comment to say that my customers and I are also experiencing this with the latest versions of the iOS app, iOS and Web Access.

Yes, everyone is experiencing it. It's entirely in the iOS app and it's just waiting for Apple to push out the fix to the app store. Once that's there and you and your customers update the app it will be resolved. If you have any customers who have not already updated their app version then they will not have this issue, but Apple doesn't let you revert versions so we're stuck with it until they push out the fixed version. We've expedited it to them, so... hopefully soon.

You may also note that the update description has been updated to indicate the crash in this version (we can do THAT) but I never read those either when my phone tells me there are apps to update...

Thanks Justin and the rest of the LF team for getting this update out so quickly. Much appreciated! New app looks fantastic! Great work!!

This is really a rough one. With the average app store review time of about 5 days, this renders all my remote mobile users dead in the water for any document management activity.

I like the new UI of the app, but really would expect better QA before shipping.

It was submitted as expedited (which is supposed to be about 3 days) on Friday so hopefully we'll see it sooner rather than later.

The iOS provisioning profile used for app store distribution had a complier optimization setting enabled that caused the problem. That provisioning profile couldn't be used by QA to build ad-hoc beta testing binaries, only after Apple tested/approved it and went public. Everything is a little more complicated in the Apple world with tight control over all aspects of the distribution process... but lesson learned.
