When I export folder contents using the web access, it adds in a text document for Word document, how do I get rid of that?

Actually, there is one workaround to this issue. You could have your users use 'Export Electronic File' instead of 'Export Folder Contents'. There is one extra step if you use this feature- for 'Export Electronic File', you'll have to actually open the folder and select all document you want to export. But this would produce the results you're looking for (no text file).

See if that workaround works for you. In the meantime, we'll continue investigating the possibility of expanding expanding the 'Export Folder Contents' feature to meet your needs.

Hi Lisa,

The current implementation of 'Export Folder Contents' will export everything associated with child documents of that folder. This includes image pages, text pages, and electronic files. There is no setting to alter this behavior.

We might be able to revise this behavior for a future release. I'm assuming you don not want the text included in the export because its not useful for your users. Is that correct? Generally, the text pages in Laserfiche are used to make the document full-text searchable, so I could see how they could be considered extraneous once they're outside the repository.

Exactly.  Our users would just open the word document, not the text document and I was hoping to disable the txt addition for less confusion.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply, I am on version 8.3, I assume it still adds the text doc in 9.1 as well?

Yeah, it adds the text in 9.1.1 in both Client and Web Access. I've talked to some of our developers about the issue. We'll look into providing a setting for this in an upcoming release.
