As far as I know this is the default action but is there any way this could have been changed?
Users are getting older versions when double clicking a document. We are having to go into versions and double click the latest version.

Opening a document will always load the current version. Could someone have reverted the entry to a previous version? You can confirm this by looking at the Versions tab in the metadata pane. In any case, if this appears to be an actual issue, please open a support case. If you can get a video demonstrating the issue, that'd be helpful. We'd want to verify that new versions are getting created yet the next time the document is open, it's showing an older version of the document, even though it was never reverted.
Ok, I will work on getting a video. We did verify it was actually opening an older version, when you revert it still creates a new version from the original version and places it at the top of the list. They are getting one of the versions from the middle of the list when they double click the document. Thanks
If you clear the user's temp directory from they're profile, does it then open the correct version?
We have a install that is doing something similar to this. They dont check the document out when making revisions and in some instances a revision can be made mid day. So if another user had that document open earlier in the day and save's a copy locally for editing and then returns to the edoc after a revision is made it will open as the version prior to the revision. Once we cleared the users temp it then opened the most recent version.
