Question

Import Agent and .lst files

asked on May 27, 2014

I am attempting to use the Import Agent to import .lst files (and their associated .tif images) into Laserfiche.  I have “*.lst” in my filter.  I get these error messages in Event Viewer:

There was an error importing the list file "0002151229.lst" while executing the profile Child Support. (9013, Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041929)

There was an error executing the profile Child Support while importing the file "0002151229.lst". (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041929) (6441)

There doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with the .lst file since I can manually drag it into Laserfiche and the image and metadata appear.   The Import Agent process creates the folder structure instructed in the .lst file but the image does not appear.

Is anyone familiar with the above error messages?  I’m using Laserfiche Import Agent Service 8.1.1.

Usually this means that there is a problem with the formatting of the LST file or there is a problem or restriction with one of the templates or template fields that you are trying to use with the LST file.

You should turn the logging level of Import Agent to High (go to Profile > Options > Log level, high) and reprocess the LST file.  Once that is done, please check the application log for Import Agent entries.  It should give you a more verbose log to help you troubleshoot the issue.

I just ran into this problem as well.  It was something trivial, as is so often the case.  We were sending 8-11-2015 into a date field.  It failed.  We changed this to 8/11/2015. It worked.

Update on this question for Import Agent V 11, from Support:

" Unfortunately there is no way to set the logging levels anymore. Whatever is logged to the Event Viewer is what you get. Can you please provide three procdump hang mode minidumps of the Import Agent exe that's maxing out the CPU. Take each dump file about 3 minutes apart from one another. Then send us the zip with the three minidumps. We'll ask dev to review it once we get those info from you.

The problem in this case were some images that had been "printed" to a size of 60 x 80, instead of 8 1/2" x 11", still with a 300 DPI resolution. It may be that they would have eventually been processed, but they were hanging everything else up in a major way.
