Indication of Multiple Values in Multiple Value Field while in Column View

asked on May 26, 2014

We had a client request that a multiple value cell, in the column view associated with searching and folder browsing, be highlighted such that you could tell at a glance it contained multiple values. This doesn't need to be an actual highlight, something like an '*' might do. Possibly allowing separate columns to be displayed for each multiple value.

The use case is that someone comes into the City looking for a specific APN (Parcel Number), often there is a one-to-one relationship between an APN and an address. But, it some cases multiple addresses can be associated with the same APN. The the front desk looks up the APN and they see an address in the column view, but there is nothing that indicates that there are multiple values.

The client is already aware that multiple value fields have an '*' in the column view and that hovering over the cell displays the multiple values for the field. They really want some way to more clearly indicate to the the searcher that their are multiple values for a specific document while in the search or folder browsing view.

Is there any way to meet this requirement or would this be a feature request?

This is not currently possible, but we are looking into it for the next version of Web Access.
