Can someone point me to a documentation on Workflow Disaster Recovery?

What I am after is, some instruction on, if Workflow server machine crashes and we reinstall Workflow Server on a different machine, and try to connect to the database from the previously crashed server, it doesn't let us (which I believe is because it looks for an empty database).

What are the best practices to achieve above tasks.
